FAQ

Helpful Information

Q: Do I need a doctor's referral?

A: You do not need a referral. In the state of Wisconsin, Occupational Therapy is a direct access service, meaning that you do not need a referral for an evaluation and treatment by an occupational therapist, the decision to obtain OT services is made by you.

If you are hoping to submit your claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement, your insurance provider may require a referral from your provider for Occupational Therapy services. In that case, you will need a referral or order from your provider prior to your initial appointment.

Referrals may be accepted from a physician, dentist, podiatrist, advanced practice nurses, chiropractors, optometrists, physical therapists, physician assistants, psychologists, or other health care professionals.

Q: Do you provide virtual services?

A: Teletherapy services are available to all clients. This decision is based on individual circumstances and a child's ability to benefit from teletherapy.

Consults are provided virtually.

Q: What do you charge for services?

A: Pricing for services depends on the service provided and length of service. Contact us for more information.

We are able to provide you with information that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement, after services are provided and payment has been made to Wonderland Therapy.

Accepted forms of payment include: Credit/debit card, check, or cash.

Additionally, you may be eligible to use your HSA/FSA funds.

All payments are due at time of service.

Q: Will my insurance reimburse me?

A: If you wish to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement, you will be provided proof of payment, a "super bill" that includes the necessary and appropriate codes, as well as any further supporting documentation requested by your insurance company.

Reimbursement is not guaranteed. It is most consistent with Out of Network provider rates.

It is recommended to contact your insurance company prior to your appointment to determine whether Out of Network provider services are covered and at what rate.
